We booked a table the night before for Sunday Lunch with ease and was offered a bar restaurant or garden area table. Dont be fooled by the exterior of the hotel its beautiful and clean with nice decor inside and the staff couldn't do enough to please us... Sunday lunch was carvery with a choice of 4 meats all cooked perfect and good choice of freshly cooked vegetables. The chef even cooked sausages to go with my fussy daughters lunch. Price was fantastic and you could go back for more veggies etc if you wanted. Highly recommended that is a rarety for me who doesn't leave reviews but well deserved.
My hubby and I went for tea one evening. The hotel was very welcoming and friendly to us, as we were new to area. We got our drinks at bar and asked about food as we were starving after moving. We were given a menu and went to our table and looked at the food items on offer. I chose Lasagna,salad and garlic bread. My hubby had scampi and home made chips. Both meals were exceedingly hot when they arrived at the table. Both meals were equally delicious. We really enjoyed the experience of the evening and will definitely be returning to the Alexandra Hotel.
Great location in the centre of the Withernsea town. The rooms were clean and tidy and the beds warm and cumfy. No food on offer, but there's lots of cafes & takeaways nearby.
We were stopping at the Park Dean caravan park nearby. Asked a member of staff to recommend somewhere to go for a carvery. We weren't disappointed. Had a lovely meal here. Had a medium carvery and couldn't eat anything else for the rest of the day. Well cooked and a lovely atmosphere.
From outside this pub looks a bit grotty, but what a surprise when you go in. Clean modern and the menu for food looked great, shame we missed last orders. We enjoyed the drink even though the lad on the bar seemed to be more interested in the till rather than customer service!
Beautiful food. The homemade pie was amazing so full of meat great quality and quantity. 8 of use ate everyone enjoyed it, the staff where friendly and our dog was welcome would highly recommend
Excellent fresh cooked food. Called in to the Alexandra Hotel for a Sunday carvery whilst on holiday in the area and I have to say it must be one of the best Sunday roasts I have ever tasted. I was that impressed we visited again for an evening meal during our stay which was also impressive. The hotel looks like it's in need of some TLC on the outside but very modern and clean on the inside so don't judge a book by its cover.
Well first time for Sunday lunch here and absolutely lovely hot and fresh and cracking was excellent. Staff made us very welcome nice and clean and plenty of banter over the braised red cabbage with sultanas lol which I gave a wied berth, but will be going back as the overall menu looks good to, many thanks Steve and Julie x
We had been in the Alexandra earlier in the week for a drink. We booked a table (advisable) for this evening and have had a lovely meal. The steak and ale pie was superb, packed with meat; veg was fresh and there was plenty of tasty gravy. Good value for money.
The Alexandra Hotel is one of the oldest pubs in Withernsea. The pub has two rooms, a large bar with TVs for watching sports and a separate room with a pool table and a dart board. There is a good choice of beers, lagers, and cider, including two cask conditioned real ales. There is a beer garden and the pub is dog friendly.
